Lisa Lee

Where is Lisa Lee?

There are questions authors tend to get over and over again in interviews and panel discussions. "Where do you get your ideas from?" is a popular one. "Has anyone approached you to make your book into a movie?" is another I have heard often. (And I'm flattered by that when asked...)

But with Legacy of MOREVI, I'm expecting the big question to be "Why didn't you write the sequel with Lisa Lee?"

When last I talked with Lisa, she was hard at work at the University of New South Wales in Australia. Now, as this is Australia—the country that lives by the universal constant of "It's 5 o'clock somewhere!"—I'm sure Lisa is also playing hard. This may explain why, on reaching the land downunder, communication lines between us changed dramatically; and it is here where my idea of why Lisa decided not to join me in this sequel becomes less fact and more conjecture.

And that is what I'd like to avoid: conjecture. Already, I've been fielding it. "Did you two have a falling out?" and "Well, she's just a flighty kid..." lead the theories over why Lisa is not sharing the byline with me on Legacy.

I'm here to set the record straight: Lisa made a decision. Even with this straight-up and honest answer, I'm sure there is still going to be questions and curiosity on exactly why Lisa decided what she did. In the end, the choice was ultimately Lisa's, and I respect it completely.

I will still admit if it wasn't for Lisa, her creativity, and her spirit of fun, MOREVI would have never happened and I would have never kicked off a writing career. I owe a great deal to her, and I wish Lisa all the best. With the talent she possesses, I do not doubt she is destined to make an impact in the circles she travels.
