Onward to Chapter Nine!

Joe Murphy started off as a fan with the most prolific and honest opinions of MOREVI. All other book reviews that came after his were put up for comparison, and only Joe’s made me think about this story and in turn made Legacy of MOREVI a better book because of it. That was Joe’s first influence on my life.

Then we became friends.

On April 1, 2007, book reviewer, fellow Sci-Fi fan, and podcaster Joe Murphy lost a battle with Leiomyosarcoma, a very aggressive form of cancer. He was 34. Today marks the one year anniversary of his death, and on this date I wanted to take a moment to remember my friend, Joe.

I still miss you. And I remember…

Tempting as it is to stretch this out to a three part episode, I don’t think so. Oye ve, have you all been patient, not to mention praiseworthy! Emails are welcome, and you all have been too kind to me…but some of you have been sending me the “Okay, I’m caught up. GET TO WORK!” missives…

And you know what? In the Golden Age of Piracy, the crew had a say in how the captain was doing. So yeah, I’m on it!

In two days, the conclusion of Chapter Eight!

I must say, this podcast never stops surprising me. I announce an unexpected and unscheduled halt in the production, and my Feedburner stats go UP. And then, from the voice of Askana Moldarin, Pip Ballantine sends me this little tidbit from the iTunes of New Zealand…

MOREVI is in the Top 15 Literature Podcasts! #13! That’s even better than its debut in the United States. So when you tell your friends and fellow fans of Fantasy about this podcast, tell them “It’s huge in New Zealand!”

So thank you, one and all, for your well wishes and concern. I’m also making a post to let you all know that I am beginning to see a break in the clouds. The fact I finished up several other paying projects on my desk and still had the drive and the time to put together a Survival Guide to Writing Fantasy means I’m almost out of the unexpected slump things here at Imagine That! Studios took. I asked for three weeks of your patience, I’m in the middle of Week Two, and I’m looking to start recording Chapter Seven either tomorrow or Friday. If I can get two chapters ready to go by the end of Week Three, I will be back with a vengeance on March 10.

Stay subscribed. Hold your course. Let people know…Rafe and Askana are almost clear of the storm…

This is Askana Moldarin, as visualized by Douglas, a heavy-duty gamer who takes his online RPGs seriously. (Makes me wish I had time for this kind of stuff…) I remember swapping MySpace mail with him when I went to check his profile and I saw a different picture of this character. Douglas confirmed she was, in fact, Askana. I was flattered. How often do fans take your characters and play them online?
